Las Vegas Steakhouse Bob Taylor’s Ranch House Just Won the 2026 James Beard America’s Classics Award
The award recognizes “locally owned restaurants with timeless appeal that serve quality food and are beloved by their communities,” according to the foundation. Bob Taylor’s Ranch House joins Las Vegas’s only other America’s Classics winner, Peppermill Restaurant and Fireside Lounge, which was recognized in 2024. Bob Taylor’s Ranch House will be honored at the 2026 James Beard Awards ceremony in Chicago on June 15, alongside the rest of the restaurant and chef winners.
Bob Taylor’s Ranch House was opened by Bob Taylor in 1955 as the Ranch House Supper Club. Taylor sold the Ranch House Supper Club in the 1980s, when new owners renamed it. Today, the restaurant — widely recognized as the oldest, still operating restaurant in Las Vegas — still operates on the same plot of land, set away from the dazzling lights of the Strip, although urban creep has surrounded the once remote location.
The interior’s wood-paneled walls, framed vintage photographs, and collection of spurs channel a cowboy-core Western aesthetic. The menu is built around mesquite-grilled meats like rib-eye and porterhouse steaks, alongside smoked prime rib, chicken Parmesan, and lobster tail.
