Devonta Lee, former LSU receiver, passes away at 27

Former LSU wide receiver, Devonta Lee passed away Thursday at the age of 27.

According to Lee’s mother, Lacresia Brown, Lee has been battling cancer. Brown described her son as “a fighter” and went on to say his love for the game of football was immense.

Lee wore the purple and gold from 2019 to 2021. He posted a stat line of 112 yards on 11 receptions while hauling in one touchdown for the Tigers.

The Amite High School graduate then transferred to Louisiana Tech to end off his collegiate career.

Lee was a high school standout as in the 2019 recruiting class he was ranked No. 6 in the state of Louisiana. He also helped Amite High win the 2A State Championship in 2018.

Both LSU and Louisiana Tech took to social media extending condolences for their deceased former player.
