Jonathan Majors is reportedly filming an action movie for The Daily Wire

After being found guilty of domestic violence in late 2023, former Marvel star Jonathan Majors is getting back to acting with a hand from conservative media company The Daily Wire. Deadline reports that Majors is in South Carolina filming a still-untitled action movie from producers Ben Shapiro and Dallas Sonnier. The script comes from Kyle Rankin and is described as similar to Red Dawn and Toy Soldiers; Rankin wrote the screenplay for the first Daily Wire feature, 2021’s Run Hide Fight. It’s not clear whether this is something that might end up in theaters like Matt Walsh’s “documentary” Am I Racist? or whether it’ll just end up on the Daily Wire’s streaming service.

Majors hasn’t really appeared in much media since his conviction. His film Magazine Dreams finally managed to get a non-festival release last March, but that was completed and screened before Majors’ legal issues began. Deadline reports that this will be his first shoot in four years. As the trade also points out, The Daily Wire has previously given roles to actors with abuse allegations or racism accusations. Armie Hammer’s recent vehicle Frontier Crucible was produced by Bonfire Legend, Sonnier’s production company that holds a distribution deal with The Daily Wire. Similarly, Gina Carano starred in Terror On The Prairie, which made about $800 in the United States and eked north of $13,000 after its release in the UAE and Russia. In 2024, Majors was also reported to be starring in the film Merciless from director Denis Villeneuve’s brother Martin, though it’s unclear where that stands today.
