Two-Vehicle Collision Blocks Westbound Lane on State Route 162 North of Willits

A two-vehicle traffic collision was reported Thursday morning on State Route 162, approximately one mile east of its intersection with US Highway 101 near Willits, according to the California Highway Patrol’s computer-aided dispatch log.

The incident, logged as a traffic collision with injuries, was first reported at 9:39 a.m. Dispatch records indicate a gray Toyota Camry and a black Jeep were involved in the crash.

A passenger in the Jeep sustained an arm injury, according to CAD detail entries. The Toyota Camry was reported partially blocking the roadway at the time of the initial call.

CHP units arrived on scene at 9:49 a.m.; responders on scene reported the Toyota Camry was blocking the westbound lane of SR-162.

A rotation tow request was issued for the Toyota Camry, with T&T Towing of Willits contacted to respond. The Camry was noted to have a blown front tire.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Motorists traveling westbound on SR-162 near the US-101 junction were advised to expect delays.

Update: CHP has listed this as a minor injury collision.
