This weekend the calendar flips from one month to the next, but even though March is the start of meteorological spring, it will still feel a lot like winter with snow and sub-zero temperatures in the forecast.

The Guelph Storm host the Niagara Ice Dogs Friday night and it’s a special Pride Night at the game with a collaboration with Out on the Shelf. Then Guelph travels to Oshawa on Sunday to take on the Generals.
The K-W Titans are on the road this weekend and will take on the Sudbury Five on Saturday evening.

Think warm thoughts and spend the day talking about seeds, plants and gardening. There are free workshops throughout the day including how to create an environment suitable for the space you have, winter gardening, learn about pollinators and talk about trees.
There will also be a number of vendors on site and there is a chance to swap seeds with other folks.
K-W Community Independent Short Films

Princess Twin Cinemas, Waterloo
Enjoy an afternoon of short films made by local filmmakers. There are 10 films set to hit the screen and a people’s choice award will be voted on by those who attend. Tickets are required.
Portage
Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Wesley United Church, 6 Cambridge St., Cambridge
The folk and fiddle band Portage will perform at this concert. The event is being organized by Wesley United Church and Mill Race Folk Traditions and the “super group” features five musicians who play high energy songs that are traditional but also innovative.
Tickets are required and can be purchased online or at the door.
Mary Poppins Jr.

Guelph Little Theatre
Young actors with Royal City Musical Productions Inc. will stage Mary Poppins Jr., a retelling of the classic story of a nanny who arrives to help the Banks family and takes them on magical adventures.

This weekly music series has a local DJ set up in a coffee shop for some fun Sunday vibes. This week it’s DR Kristian Protic at Coffee Culture. It’s a chance to hang out with friends, listen to music, sip some drinks and relax.
