Rangers claim F Kartye off waivers from Kraken

The New York Rangers claimed forward Tye Kartye off waivers from the Seattle Kraken on Friday.

The move comes as the Rangers are expected to be among the prolific sellers ahead of next week’s trade deadline. Sitting last in the Eastern Conference, the Rangers announced their intention to retool in January and sent star winger Artemi Panarin to the Los Angeles Kings ahead of the Olympic break.

Kartye has three goals and eight points in 40 games this season.

The 24-year-old winger posted a career-best 11 goals and 20 points in 77 games in 2023-24.
