Packers to hire Cam Achord as their special teams coordinator

Green Bay has found its new special teams coordinator.

The Packers plan to hire Cam Achord as their special teams coordinator, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Friday afternoon, per sources. The team later announced the news.

Achord, 39, previously served as the New York Giants assistant special teams coach for the last two seasons. When the Giants hired head coach John Harbaugh, Achord was not retained to stay in New York’s coaching staff.

The Packers now find Rich Bisaccia’s replacement after he stepped down from the role on Feb. 17. Bisaccia spent four seasons in Green Bay.

In 2025, the Packers averaged 5.6 yards per punt return, which was the lowest in the NFL. Green Bay punter Daniel Whelan set a franchise single-season record for gross punting average (51.7) and net punting average (43.9).

With the Packers hiring Achord, he is now the NFL’s final coordinator to be hired this coaching cycle.
