Spring break forecast brings snow, flurries and a midweek warm-up in Montreal

As Spring Break kicks off next week, the weather is shaping up to be a true late-winter mix, with flurries, gusty winds, periods of snow and a brief taste of milder temperatures before another cool-down.
Today will remain mainly cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of flurries and light winds up to 15 km/h. The high will reach minus–1 Celusis, though wind chills will make it feel closer to minus–16 C this morning and minus–5 C this afternoon. The UV index sits at 2, or low.
Clouds will partially clear tonight before thickening again toward morning. Winds will shift south and strengthen to 30 km/h, gusting to 60 km/h after midnight. The overnight low will hover around 0 C, with an evening wind chill near minus–7 C.
Saturday will see a few early showers ending near noon, followed by clearing skies. Strong southerly winds at 30 km/h, gusting to 60, will shift west at 20 km/h, gusting to 40, by midday. The temperature will climb to a mild 8 C. However, the warmer air won’t last long. Periods of snow are expected Saturday night with a low of minus–10 C.
Snow continues into Sunday, with a daytime high of minus–6 C. Skies will clear Sunday night, but temperatures will plunge to minus–19 C.
The new week begins bright but cold. Monday will be sunny with a high of minus–8 C and a clear overnight low of minus–12 C. More snow returns Tuesday, with periods of snowfall and a high of minus–2 C. Snow is expected to continue Tuesday night with a low of minus–2 C.
By Wednesday, conditions improve with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 5 C. Cloudy periods are expected Wednesday night with a low of minus–1 C. Thursday rounds out the forecast with cloudy skies and a 60 per cent chance of flurries or rain showers, and a high of 6 C.
