The Brit Awards in Manchester: Olivia Dean, Lola Young and Sam Fender among nominees for UK’s biggest music ceremony

The carpet is nearly over, but we’ve just caught Jade before it all closes.

The former Little Mix singer, who has gone on to have huge success as a solo star, says she’s hoping to see lots of female wins tonight.

She’s up for two awards herself – best artist and best pop act.

“Last year I was performing and doing the most, it was a very busy night, whereas this year I can relax a bit more and enjoy the show,” she says.

“I feel like last year was so busy for me I didn’t really have a chance to take it in… This year it’s obviously amazing to have two nominations but I am a little bit grateful to sit with my boyfriend and watch everyone else on stage.

“I feel like this year has been so incredible, especially for female artists, so I’m hoping to see a lot of female wins – Olivia [Dean], Rosalia I’d love to see win … the girlies are doing it.”
