UFC Mexico: Ryan Gandra vs. Jose Daniel Medina Predictions & Odds

The middleweight match between Ryan Gandra and Jose Daniel Medina will be part of the UFC Mexico card on Saturday, which takes place inside Arena CDMX.

Because he hasn’t won a fight inside the octagon, Medina heads into the match as the betting underdog with +475 UFC odds, while Gandra is going to be the heavy betting favorite with -650 odds, due to his better pro record.

UFC Mexico: Ryan Gandra vs. Jose Daniel Medina: Prediction

A TKO/KO victory for Gandra over Medina is my prediction because of the tremendous power and volume he throws. Gandra throws his strikes with the intention of putting the lights out of his opponent. I think he’ll do the same against Medina.

Medina is a very durable opponent with a granite chin, but he could only absorb several solid strikes before he gets stunned. This was seen during his bout with Ateba Gautier, where he absorbed the first wave of vicious punches but was eventually stopped.

The only route to victory for Medina is to push Gandra to full three rounds and gas him out. But unless he makes Gandra miss a chunk of his punches, Medina wouldn’t be able to survive the onslaught from “Problema.”

Ryan Gandra’s Recent Fight Results

Gandra was the former Gladiators titleholder and an LFA standout. He joined Dana White’s Contender Series in August, where he was pitted against Trent Miller. The Brazilian contender made the most of the competition with a first-round stoppage win to secure a UFC contract.

Jose Daniel Medina’s Recent Fight Results

Medina was the former Samurai Fight House and Thunder Fight champion before competing on Dana White’s Contender Series in October 2023. He dropped his fight with Magomed Gadzhiyasulov but still got a UFC contract. However, in his three fights inside the octagon, he remained winless with losses to Zachary Reese, Gautier, and Dusko Todorovic.
