‘The Comeback’ Season 3 Sets HBO Release Date, Drops First Trailer

“The Comeback” Season 3 has announced its official premiere date at HBO.
The Lisa Kudrow comedy series will debut March 22 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max. HBO is billing the third season as the final season, but given the show’s propensity for, well, coming back, we’ll see if that holds true.
Kudrow returns in the role of Valerie Cherish, a former sitcom star. The new season picks up more than 10 years after the second season, with Cherish now starring in a new show (that’s being written by AI) and still trying to make her Hollywood dreams come true.
Along with Kudrow, the cast includes: Dan Bucatinsky, Laura Silverman, Damian Young and Tim Bagley, Matt Cook, Jack O’Brien, Ella Stiller, John Early, Barry Shabaka Henley, Abbi Jacobson, Tony Macht, Brittany O’Grady, Zane Phillips, Julian Stern, and Andrew Scott.
The series is created by Michael Patrick King and Kudrow, who executive produce alongside John Melfi and Bucatinsky. The comedy series debuted on HBO in 2005 before returning for a second season in 2014.
“The Comeback” did not initially find a strong audience when it initially premiered, but has developed a strong cult following over the years. That led to HBO bringing the show back for a second season, which was met with critical acclaim. Kudrow has received two Emmy nominations for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series for “The Comeback,” while King was nominated for outstanding directing for a comedy series for the show’s first season.
