Klay Thompson exits Mavericks-Thunder with adductor injury

Add veteran guard Klay Thompson to the Dallas Mavericks’ lengthy list of injured players.
Thompson exited Sunday’s game vs. Oklahoma City with what the team called a right adductor contusion. The Mavericks are already extremely shorthanded, as they entered the game against the Thunder without Marvin Bagley III (neck sprain), Cooper Flagg (left midfoot sprain), P.J. Washington (left ankle sprain) and Naji Marshall (right finger contusion). That list of injuries doesn’t include Dereck Lively II and Kyrie Irving who are out for the rest of the season.
Thompson was off to a decent start in the first half against the NBA’s defending champions, scoring 7 points of 3-of-8 shooting in 14 minutes.
He exited the game with 1:59 remaining in the second quarter and did not return in the second half.
