Taylor Swift Announces “Elizabeth Taylor” 7-Inch Vinyl for Record Store Day 2026

Taylor Swift is returning to the format that has defined much of her recent commercial dominance: vinyl. The singer-songwriter will release her track “Elizabeth Taylor” as a limited-edition 7-inch single for Record Store Day 2026, arriving April 18 while supplies last.

The release pairs the original album version of “Elizabeth Taylor,” taken from Swift’s 2025 LP The Life of a Showgirl, with the “So Glamorous Cabaret Version,” a theatrical reimagining that leans into the record’s old-Hollywood motifs. The vinyl itself is designed as a violet glitter pressing — officially titled “Cry My Eyes Violet Glitter.”

The announcement came via Taylor Nation, Swift’s official fan community platform, which framed the drop in characteristically theatrical language. “Put it in the papers, on the screen, and in their minds!” the statement read, confirming the special edition as part of #RSD2026 and directing fans to RecordStoreDay.com for further information. As with all Record Store Day exclusives, quantities will be limited and distributed through participating independent retailers.

The timing is significant. Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl was recently confirmed by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) as the best-selling album worldwide of 2025. The achievement marked her second consecutive year atop the IFPI Global Album Chart, following 2024’s The Tortured Poets Department. With that distinction, Swift became the first artist to secure back-to-back IFPI Global No. 1 albums in consecutive years and joined Adele as one of the only artists to top the chart twice.

Released October 3, 2025, through Republic Records, The Life of a Showgirl reportedly moved around 6 million units globally despite having only three months of eligibility within the calendar year. The album also led global rankings in pure sales and vinyl performance.
