Report: Bears’ Dalman retires at 27

Chicago Bears center Drew Dalman told the team he’s retiring from the NFL, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Dalman walks away from football at the age of 27 and after a Pro Bowl campaign in 2025.

He was one year into a three-year, $42-million deal he signed with the Bears last offseason. The center was a key addition as the team aimed to improve quarterback Caleb Williams’ offensive line.

Chicago will once again seek to improve the interior offensive line this offseason. The franchise reportedly “sniffed around” center Tyler Linderbaum, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer. Linderbaum is scheduled to hit free agency unless the Baltimore Ravens re-sign him.

Dalman, a fourth-round pick in 2021, spent the first four seasons of his career with the Atlanta Falcons before joining the Bears.
