Patriots releasing WR Stefon Diggs after one season

The New England Patriots have informed wide receiver Stefon Diggs that they will be releasing him after the start of the league year on March 11, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Wednesday, per sources.

Diggs played in all 17 regular-season games in his first year with the Patriots, leading the team with 85 receptions for 1,013 yards while also producing four touchdowns for a club that went on to claim the AFC title.

“THANK YOU for a hell of year,” Diggs wrote in a social media post Wednesday. “We family forever.”

The 32-year-old wideout will get a head start in free agency after being informed of his release in New England.
