Denison Explodes for 23 Goals in Win Against Adrian

Granville, Ohio – Sixteen different goal scorers contributed to a big home win against the visiting Adrian Bulldogs, 23-4. Five Big Red had multiple goals, while Jonah Frank notched a hat trick in the win. Denison improves to 2-3, while Adrian falls to 1-5.
The Big Red got off to a quick start as Jack Moellering fired one into the back of the net within a minute to go up 1-0. Brady Monturio got in on the action, netting one just 41 seconds later to go up 2-0. Kevin Berutich, AJ Boxler, Zach Warren all got in on the action as the Big Red went up 7-0 in the first quarter. Denison did not let off the pedal as Liam Gillard and Jonah Frank scored within a minute of each other to push the lead to nine. Frank and Macky Peck added two more, and Denison went into the half up 11-1.
Denison had 27 shots on goal compared to Adrian’s two, and the Big Red picked up a total of 16 ground balls. Moellering, Frank, and Monturio led the Big Red with two goals apiece. Grant Larson went 8-10 on faceoffs, as well as four ground balls.
Five more goals were scored in the third quarter, as Drew Merschel, Christian Lee, and Cian Nicholas got on the board and boosted the already big lead to fifteen to end the quarter. Peck and Frank each added goals to capture multi-goal days. The Bulldogs answered back in the fourth with two goals of their own, but the Big Red fired back with four unanswered, as Teddy Hardy, Warren, Marty Junkins, and Zou Ouattara added to the list of Denison scorers on the evening. Another three were added to the board, and the Big Red got back on the winning track, cruising by Adrian 23-4. Goalie Andrew Albert had a quiet day, facing just two shots while saving one.
