WNBA star Arike Ogunbowale arrested in Miami while celebrating Unrivaled title

WNBA superstar Arike Ogunbowale was reportedly arrested in Miami while celebrating her team Mist BC’s championship win in the Unrivaled women’s 3×3 basketball league at the popular nightclub, Club E11EVEN.

FOX Sports’ Andy Slater was first to report the news.

According to Slater, Ogunbowale “punched a man in the face and he fell to the ground.” The incident was reportedly caught on camera, though no footage has been released at this time.

Ogunbowale and Mist BC defeated Phantom BC, 80-74, at Sephora Arena in Miami on Wednesday night. Ogunbowale’s arrest took place the following day.

In the championship game, Ogunbowale recorded 19 points, second on the team behind MVP Breanna Stewart, three rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

In the WNBA, Ogunbowale, who was selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2019 draft out of Notre Dame, plays for the Dallas Wings.

Last season, Ogunbowale averaged 15.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.

Throughout her WNBA career, Ogunbowale has been a four-time All-Star, two-time WNBA All-Star Game MVP, the 2020 scoring champion, and 2024 steals leader.
