NC Strawberry Festival 2026: What to know about this year’s events

CHADBOURN, N.C. (WECT) – The North Carolina Strawberry Festival has announced its 2026 lineup of events for the celebration of the region’s strawberry harvest.

The festivities begin on April 18 with the Strawberry Wine Social from 6 to 9 p.m. at Brown Street Station in Chadbourn. Attendance for the event is limited and tickets must be purchased online.

Opening ceremonies will be held on April 30 at 5 p.m. with the Chicken Bog Supper. The public can also enjoy free live entertainment by the band Chocolate Chip & Company from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Tickets for the meal are $10 and can be purchased from Association members. Walk-ups are also available while supplies last.

The festival will present the Evening of Encounters on May 1 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Chadbourn Depot, or the Chadbourn Pentecostal Holiness Church Life Center in the event of rain. The Strawberry Quality Auction will be held after dinner.

The festival will conclude with a full day of family-friendly events on May 2, with a car show registration at 9 a.m., a festival parade at 11 a.m., vendor booths and exhibits from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and car show awards to be presented at 2 p.m.

“The Strawberry Festival is a celebration of our heritage, our farmers, and the spirit of our community,” said Festival Association President Hannah Hazel. “Each year, neighbors and visitors come together to honor our traditions while creating new memories for generations to come.”
