Kim Kardashian Shares Photos of 4 Puppies She Got as Christmas Gifts for Her Kids, Weeks After PETA Slammed Her

Kim Kardashian is giving fans another peek at her family’s dogs, weeks after she made headlines for gifting each of her four children their own puppy for Christmas.

On Friday, March 6, the reality TV star, 45, shared a post on Instagram featuring the same two photos of her Pomeranian puppies that she shared on Christmas Day in December.

“Welcome to the fam,” she captioned the post.

Kim originally shared a series of videos and photos on her Instagram Stories on Christmas, revealing that her family had grown to include four small Pomeranian puppies: two with dark fur, one with a cream coat and one with sable fur.

On a photo of all four dogs together, she wrote, “Each kid got a puppy.”

Kim shares kids North, 12, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 6, with her ex-husband Kanye West.

In January, the Skims founder posted clips on her Instagram Stories of her kids playing with their new puppies at home.

In one video, Kim held up a puppy to the camera as one of her kids said in the background, “Mommy, look, it licks me!”

In another clip, Chicago could be seen kissing and hugging the same dog in the family’s living room.

Psalm could also be seen shuffling around on his hands and knees along with Chicago as the siblings chased one of the dark-haired puppies around the room.

After revealing the Christmas surprise, Kim quickly drew criticism from animal rights activists, including PETA founder Ingrid Newkirk, who slammed the star for giving a pet as a gift.

“Puppies are not plushies, and it’s a damn shame that Kim missed the chance to be a spokesperson for shelter pups and instead is being rightly slammed on social media for that,” Newkirk said in a statement to PEOPLE.

Newkirk suggested that Kim and her sister Khloé Kardashian — who also gifted a dog to her family for Christmas — “call PETA or a local shelter the next time” they want to add another dog to their family.

“[They can] try to make some amends now by sending their kids to volunteer at a local shelter or paying for a local shelter adopt-a-thon or at least one spay day to help stop the growing homeless puppy crisis,” the PETA founder added.

The Kardashian-Jenner family as a whole has acquired a menagerie of pets over the years, including dogs, cats, reptiles and horses. Kylie Jenner, Kim and Khloé’s youngest sibling, has a multitude of dogs, while sister Kendall Jenner owns a horse named Arizona.

Kim and her children have posted photos of their pet lizards over the years, including a bearded dragon named Speed. They also have several other Pomeranians, including two that joined the family in 2019. Kim additionally has a Pomeranian named Sushi.
