Kevin Federline’s money woes surface as Britney Spears’ sons stand by her after DUI

While Britney Spears is making headlines for her DUI arrest in Ventura County, her ex-husband Kevin Federline is dealing with his own legal battles.

According to TMZ, Federline was sued by Bank of America in Hawaii on February 19 over an alleged unpaid credit card balance of $12,186.64. The timing is interesting because the account was reportedly opened in December 2024, shortly after Spears made her final $20,000 monthly child support payment for their sons, Sean, 20, and Jayden, 19.

Two weeks later, Spears was arrested on “suspicion of driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs” after allegedly speeding and swerving on the 101 near Newbury Park. She was booked around 3 a.m., released hours later, and now faces a May 4 court date. Chemical test results are still pending.
A rep for Spears told DailyMail the incident was “completely inexcusable,” adding that she plans to comply with the law and take the right steps moving forward.
“‘Her boys are going to be spending time with her, and her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue plan to set her up for success and well-being,” the insider continued.
What Kevin said – and their kids standing by her
Amid the news, Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, said his client hopes Spears will accept help “if that is what’s found to be in her best interest.”
“Kevin hopes for the best for Britney, and if help is necessary, he hopes that she will neither resist it nor those who are attempting to work with her,” Kaplan shared, adding there’s concern about whether this was “a one-off or a one more.”

Meanwhile, their sons are reportedly by their mom’s side. Jayden was seen at Spears’ Thousand Oaks home shortly after the arrest, and a source says both boys “love her and want to support her and just want her to feel better.”
What Sam Asghari said

Federline isn’t the only one weighing in. Spears’ ex-husband Sam Asghari gave her some grace while talking to Fox News on Friday.
“When it comes to people making mistakes, I understand that,” he said, while stressing that she deserves privacy. “I hope that the press has learned from the past [and] they give her the privacy that she needs.”
Asghari’s statement comes weeks after he exclusively talked to HOLA! at House of Heroes’ inaugural The Legends Series LA at BMO Stadium.
When we asked if he ever gets tired of the questions about her, his answer was calm and sweet. “Life is about embracing what you’ve gone through,” he said. “That’s something that makes you who you are. So I never get tired of a big part of my life.”
