South Carolina wins 19th straight over LSU, heads back to SEC Tournament title game

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WIS) – Raven Johnson scored a career-high 22 points as a flurry of offense in the second half lifted No. 3 South Carolina past No. 6 LSU on Saturday, 83-77.
The win, which marks the Gamecocks’ 19th straight over the Tigers, also sends South Carolina back to the SEC Championship matchup on Sunday.
Johnson was one of four Gamecocks who scored in double digits, alongside Ta’Niya Latson (19), Joyce Edwards (18) and Tessa Johnson (11).
Former Gamecock MiLaysia Fulwiley led LSU with 24 points.
Midway through the fourth quarter, South Carolina went on a 12-4 run led by Edwards that gave them a lead they wouldn’t give up again.

The Gamecocks will meet the winner of the other semifinal between No. 4 Texas and No. 24 Ole Miss. South Carolina will look to claim its fourth straight SEC Tournament title.
The championship game tips off at 3 p.m. Sunday and will air on ESPN.
