The Avalanche will be without team captain Gabe Landeskog for the foreseeable future.
Landeskog is out week-to-week with a lower-body injury, the team announced just before they took the ice for pre-game warm-ups Sunday against the Minnesota Wild.
Landeskog took a Cale Makar slap shot to the midsection area during Colorado’s 5-4 shootout victory over the Dallas Stars on Friday. Landeskog returned and finished the game, recording an assist in 22:54 of ice time.
In his absence, Kadri will join the top six and play on the wing. Valeri Nichushkin is getting elevated to the top line, with Kadri playing on the right with Brock Nelson and Ross Colton.
