Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville will play significant roles in West Ham’s relegation battle.

The two wingers are clearly the East London club’s top attacking talents and much-needed sources of goals and assists.

Bowen has become a Hammers legend for his contributions over many seasons, while Summerville has been in great form lately.

However, one surprising Premier League statistic suggests that Bowen is creating a problem for his Dutch team-mate.

Would you rather sell Bowen or Summerville this summer?

West Ham lead Premier League in eye-opening stat

WhoScored’s positional statistics section determines whether an attack came through the left side, the middle of the pitch, or the right side.

This research shows that 45% of West Ham’s attacks in the 2025/26 Premier League season have been on the right.

This is a higher percentage than any of the other 19 teams have attacked in one of the three areas of the pitch.

Given that the Hammers’ right-winger is a star player, Jarrod Bowen, one could argue that this makes complete sense.

However, West Ham now have an equally dangerous option on the opposite flank, Crysencio Summerville.

Summerville has developed into one of Nuno Espirito Santo’s key players recently, but Bowen’s dominance may be limiting his potential.

Especially as the 24-year-old is in better goalscoring form than Bowen, the Hammers should consider concentrating more on the left wing.

Is this just a purple patch or is Summerville really one of the best forwards in the Premier League? 🤔

Crysencio Summerville has become West Ham’s new talisman

Summerville only scored one Premier League goal for West Ham last season after completing a £25 million move from Leeds United.

He also struggled in the first half of the 2025/26 campaign, failing to score until the Hammers’ 2-1 victory over Tottenham in January.

However, Summerville has since netted five times in his last eight league appearances, including the winner against Fulham.

He has suddenly become a reliable option as the Hammers fight to avoid relegation to the Championship.
