Broncos release linebacker Dre Greenlaw

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Denver Broncos are releasing linebacker Dre Greenlaw. The Broncos signed Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad to new deals and have now decided to move on from Greenlaw.
Dre Greenlaw was a big free agent signing by the Broncos last offseason that brought a lot of excitement to the fan base. However, he came with some injury concerns and structured his contract in a way that they could get out of it without much trouble, and that is exactly what they did in one year.

With the Broncos moving on from Greenlaw, they will save about $6 million dollars in cap space, which will give them some wiggle room to work with moving forward.
With Singleton back as their team leader and green dot player and Strnad, who played rather well in place of Greenlaw, the Broncos now have their two starting linebackers. However, they need to keep adding to that room. It’s an excellent linebacker class, and they should add to that room with one of their picks in the first four rounds of the draft.
As for Greenlaw, it sucks that it didn’t work out, but that was always the risk with that signing. He came with some injury concerns and they popped up and limited him to just 8 games last season. Strnad benefited from this missed time and proved he can play just as well, if not better than Greenlaw, and the Broncos decided to move on. Now, just add some depth to that room. A rookie linebacker with coverage ability and lets move forward with that.
