The following article contains spoilers from the episode of Emmerdale dated March 10. It hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX.
An Emmerdale resident was finally back on our screens in today’s episode of the ITV soap.
Noah Dingle, played by Jack Downham, hasn’t been seen since the start of 2026. He was summoned to the pub today though along with the rest of the Dingle clan.
Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) had finally decided to tell his family about his prostate cancer diagnosis, a decision that only came after a very emotional chat with Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb).
In the prison visiting room, Cain broke down as he told Moira his health news and how terrified he is for the future.

Moira helped Cain create a plan to tell Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper), Caleb Miligan (William Ash), Sam Dingle (James Hooton) and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) his news. She said that afterwards, they could then tell the wider family to prevent Cain from doing so, and feeling as though everyone felt bad for him.
This is exactly what happened. At Wishing Well, Cain shared his diagnosis with his devastated loved ones.
In the pub, the likes of Noah, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock), Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) all sat wondering why they had been called for a family meeting.
When Chas entered, she told them Cain’s news on behalf of him.
The family reeled in the aftermath. Sam rushed into the toilets and broke down in tears, while many couldn’t believe that Cain Dingle was about to face such a worrying journey.
While they were all shocked, the family were all in agreement that they’d be there for Cain no matter what. For Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) this looked like offering to regularly make dinner for Cain and his boys, while Aaron quietly told him that if he needs him to deal with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), he will.

A lot changed for Cain and his family in today’s episode. He finally allowed himself to be vulnerable in front of the entire Dingle clan, and became so overwhelmed by the love and support he had to leave the room.
As he left the pub, Cain was given even more bad news that changed his family’s future. Joe approached and made a comment that allowed Cain to discover Moira had sold her share of Butler’s Farm to Kim Tate (Claire King) without telling him.
It really does look like the end of an era.
