‘I found my love for MMA again’ – Rouseypublished at 19:31 GMT
Ronda Rousey says she “found her love for MMA again” before agreeing to fight Gina Carano.
“I had built up a lot of walls around MMA. I was forced
to retire because of neurological problems,” she starts with.
“I
got to be pregnant and I was about three months pregnant when my husband caught me doing suplexes in the yard. I was nine months pregnant when I saw an interview with
Gina, I was like I hope she doesn’t say anything because I don’t have the
love for it [MMA] anymore.
“But I found that love again, saw her not doing well, and I
was like we need to find our bodily identity together, so I reached
out to her and its been such a journey to get here.
“So many obstacles and people
tried to get between us. We went from barely knowing each other to training to
fight each other.”
“I told her I will train me to fight me if I have to.
Luckily I didn’t have to,” Rousey adds.
