Miley Cyrus Back for Special

It’s time to get the best of both worlds, because Disney has released the trailer for its “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special,” featuring star Miley Cyrus. The special will debut on March 24, exactly 20 years after the original show premiered on Disney Channel.
In the special, fans will see never-before-seen footage, recreations of the show’s set, iconic moments revisited and even some “familiar notes that find their way back into the spotlight,” said Disney. It will be filmed in front of a live studio audience, featuring an interview with Cyrus hosted by “Call Her Daddy” star Alex Cooper.
“Hannah Montana” first premiered in 2006, running for four seasons until 2011 and earning four Emmy nominations for outstanding children’s program. The show, which followed Miley Stewart, a teenager living in Malibu, Calif., who doubles as the famous pop singer Hannah Montana, was a major hit with kids and tweens. It even spawning a film, “Hannah Montana: The Movie,” which was released in theaters in April 2009 during the show’s third season.
In addition to Cyrus, Emily Osment played Lilly Truscott, Hannah’s best friend. Mitchel Musso played Oliver Oken, another one of her close friends. Cyrus’ real-life father Billy Ray Cyrus played Hannah’s dad, Robby, and Jason Earles played her brother, Jackson. Moisés Arias played Rico Suave, the manager of the local Rico’s Surf Shop.
A number of high-profile guest stars also made appearances during the show’s run, including Dolly Parton, Selena Gomez, the Jonas Brothers, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Larry David, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Kelly Ripa and Lisa Rinna.
