Colter Wall cancels Fox Theatre concert: ‘I am mentally unwell’

Country singer is taking a break from live music, he explained in a note posted to social media.

Country singer Colter Wall has canceled his Saturday concert at Detroit’s Fox Theatre, citing mental health issues.

“I am mentally unwell,” the singer wrote in a note posted to Instagram on Wednesday. “Despite this, I have pushed myself to continue with touring. As a result my mental health has only further declined.

“After discussions with my team, we have decided to cancel the remaining shows and take an indefinite hiatus from live music.

“Thank you for your understanding and support. Tickets will be refunded automatically from original point of purchase.”

Wall, the 30-year-old Canadian singer, was due to perform a sold-out show at the Fox on Saturday. It was the final date of the singer’s “Memories and Empties” tour, and Kade Hoffman was due to open.

Wall also canceled a pair of shows in Indianapolis, Wednesday and Thursday, and a Friday concert in Cincinnati.

Fans who bought tickets through Ticketmaster will have their purchases automatically refunded. Those who purchased tickets through third-party resellers should contact their point of purchase.
