Abu Dhabi controls fire at old airport after interception by air defence

Abu Dhabi authorities have controlled a fire that broke out at Abu Dhabi’s old airport after the nation’s air defence systems made a successful interception.

The incident has resulted in no injuries, the authority has said. It has also, in the meanwhile, reminded residents ro obtain information from official sources and avoid spreading rumours.

This came just a few hours after authorities asked some UAE residents to seek a safe place as the nation’s defence systems were dealing with Iranian aggression.

Earlier today, authorities confirmed that two drones fell near Dubai International Airport and left four people injured. As a result of the falling of the drones, three people, two Ghanian nationals and a Bangladeshi, sustained minor injuries. One Indian national was moderately injured as well.
