When it comes to tennis kits, Nike is usually the brand that garners the most criticism (excluding Naomi Osaka’s kit); however, Nike is not drawing as much ire at Indian Wells as Adidas is.
If you are wondering why Adidas is under fire for its Indian Wells kits, it is because there are not any.

Upon closer look, the Adidas athletes are wearing the same thing at Indian Wells as they wore at the 2026 Australian Open and in the Middle East.
Why are there no Sunshine Double Adidas kits?
It is unclear why there are not custom kits for the Sunshine Double. Nike has new seasonal color combinations for the US spring swing with Jannik Sinner in pale pink and Carlos Alcaraz in yellow.
Perhaps it was premeditated that the Australian Open kits were orange, white, and black with interchangeable pieces that could look like original Sunshine Double color schemes.
New Balance has new white kits.
Lululemon has its main ambassador Leylah Fernandez in a bluish purple kit.

Except for Adidas, the major brands pivoted to different colors and styles from the Australian Open and Middle Eastern swing to the US Sunshine Double. This is another misstep that brings back memories of last year’s Y3 branding fiasco at last year’s US Open that thankfully bit the dust because no one understood it.
