Clayton v Van Gerwen
Jonny Clayton speaking to Sky Sports: “I respect Michael, there’s not tactics, he just throws his darts. If things don’t go his way, he never blames anything else. That’s what I try and do because no one can help you if things don’t go your way and I think that’s why we have good games.
“We know we’ve got to pick points up. The earlier you do that, it’s less pressure, it doesn’t get any easier. I try and pick two points up each week and anything after that is a bonus. I’m really enjoying it.”
Michael van Gerwen speaking to Sky Sports: “Me and Jonny always have good games. I also like him as a person. Behind stage we always make jokes.
“It’s an important battle and I need to make sure I win the two points. Jonny is doing really well so I need to be up for it.
“There is still a long time left in this tournament, you need to play well week after week. I am playing Ok, but I know I can do better. Don’t make mistakes and go for it.”
