Steelers sign former Bears S Jaquan Brisker

Jaquan Brisker is heading back home. The former Chicago Bears safety is signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers on a one-year deal worth $5.5 million. The news was first reported by NFL insider Mike Garafolo.
Brisker was Bears general manager Ryan Poles’ second-ever draft pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. The hard-nosed safety out of Penn State showed flashes of excellence with the Bears, but injuries limited his time on the field. A bad concussion knocked Brisker out for the final 12 games of the 2024 season, which raised questions about his future in the league.
Fortunately, Brisker played all 17 games for the Bears in 2025, totaling 93 tackles (one for loss), one sack, one interception, and eight pass breakups in the regular season. His best performance of his career, however, came in the team’s playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Brisker totaled 14 tackles (one for loss), a sack, and two pass breakups in the 20-17 overtime loss.
Now, Brisker heads to Pittsburgh, not far from his hometown of Monroeville, PA. He will join a secondary headlined by former college teammate Joey Porter Jr.
