Mayci Neeley is encouraging mothers to trust their instincts after sharing that her youngest daughter Charli had been hospitalized for breathing troubles.

In a series of posts shared to her Instagram Stories on March 12, the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, 31, broke down the incident that prompted her to take her youngest daughter, Charli, eight months old, to the hospital.

“Wanted to give an update for awareness [because] trusting my instincts was absolutely crucial,” she began a post that featured a picture of her young daughter and husband Jacob Neeley in the hospital.

Mayci went on to explain that during a work meeting on Wednesday, she had begun to have an “anxious, sick feeling” about her daughter, whom she and Jacob welcomed on July 26, 2025.

“Our nanny was holding her and I could tell just by touching her that her temp was high,” the mom of three said, sharing that, upon taking her temperature, they learned it was 102°F.

Mayci then revealed that she noticed Charli’s stomach seemed to be contracting in an unusual way as she breathed. It was then that the parents decided to go to a nearby hospital, seeking out a suction clinic that they had been recommended by their pediatrician.

While doctors listened to her daughter’s breathing, they concluded it was “wheezy” and suggested that a breathing treatment would benefit her.

Doctors also concluded that Charli had an ear infection as well, advising Mayci and Jacob to take Charli over to the ER side of the hospital to check her out further, where she received treatment as well as steroids and antibiotics for her ears.

Doctors went back and forth on discharging Charli, Mayci explained, as they continued to monitor her fluctuating oxygen levels. Ultimately, Charli was admitted to the hospital overnight.

“The anxiety & stress and sadness I felt was unreal,” Mayci wrote in her Instagram Stories. “But ultimately I felt so grateful I trusted my instincts! The doctor kept telling me ‘You did the right thing by coming in,’ which reassured me.”

Charli has since been discharged with the recommendation that she be on oxygen while resting moving forward.

“We are home and Charli girl finally smiled for the first time in a few days which makes me feel like she’s finally feeling better,” Mayci continued.

She then urged other parents to trust their intuitions, calling her choice to do so “completely right and crucial.”

“I honestly didn’t really realize how bad she was struggling until the hospital so I’m so so so grateful we took her in,” she said. “I was also supposed to be in New York for work yesterday and cancelled that trip a few days ago. Call it divine intervention or coincidence but I do think everything happens for a reason.”

Mayci’s posts came the same day that season 4 of the hit reality TV show Secret Lives of Mormon Wives — of which Mayci is a cast member — dropped on Hulu.

This season sees Mayci adjust to postpartum life once more, all while promoting the release of her memoir, Told You So. Together, Mayci and Jacob share three children including Charli: son Hudson, 9, (whom Jacob officially adopted in March 2023) and daughter Harlow, 5.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 4 is now available to stream on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
