FORECAST

Here’s WAVE News meteorologist Brian Goode with your forecast.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A cold front exiting our area tonight will result in calming winds and cooler temperatures. Expect lows in the 30s by Saturday morning with a few clouds.

Enjoy a nice-looking Saturday as a warm front moves in, helping to recover our temperature somewhat. Despite the recovery, many areas may still struggle to make it out of the 50s during the afternoon.

Keep a light jacket handy!

Saturday night is milder with a few clouds and mainly dry weather. Lows will only drop into the 40s by Sunday morning.

Most of Sunday is dry, warm, and windy with highs in the 70s. Wind gusts over 50 MPH are possible by late afternoon as a cold front approaches. This front will drive a line of strong to severe storms through our area, bringing a WAVE Weather Alert Day.

The timing for damaging winds and a spin-up tornado from the line of storms moving through Sunday night looks to be 10PM-4AM ET. After that time, cold air plunging in on the backside of the front will result in snow showers.

The Alert Day continues for Monday as snow showers and falling temperatures will create low visibility and perhaps a few slick spots on bridges and overpasses. A dusting to coating of snow is possible on grassy surfaces by Monday evening.

Look for lows in the teens by Tuesday morning with single-digit wind chills!
