Elīna Garanča, Christian Van Horn, Chen Reiss & Catriona Morison Lead Munich Philharmonic’s 2026-27 Season

The Munich Philharmonic has announced its 2026-27 season. Here are the vocal performances.
Thomas Hengelbrock conducts a Mendelssohn program that includes Eleanor Lyons and Samuel Hasselhorn.
Performance Dates: Oct. 23 & 24, 2026
Barbara Hannigan conducts a program that includes Khayam, Haydn, Messiaen, Ravel, and Schreker.
Performance Dates: Oct. 29 & 30, 2026
Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 will be performed for New Year’s Eve.
Performance Dates: Dec. 29-31, 2026
Manfred Honeck conducts Mozart and Beethoven with soloists Christina Landshamer, Catriona Morison, Patrick Grahl, and Franz-Josef Selig.
Performance Dates: Jan. 28-30, 2027
Fabio Luisi conducts Liszt’s “Eine Faust-Symphonie” and Frank Martin’s Concerto for seven wind instruments, timpani, percussion and string orchestra.
Performance Dates: March 12 & 13, 2027
Lahav Shani conducts Elīna Garanča and Christian Van Horn in Bartok’s “Bluebeard’s Castle.” The program also includes Fauré’s Orchestra Suite to “Pelléas et Mélisande.”
Performance Dates: April 16 & 17, 2027
Lahav Shani and Chen Reiss perform in a program with music by Mahler and Paul Ben-Haim.
Performance Dates: May 6-8, 2027
Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Missa solemnis” will be conducted by Klaus Mäkelä.
Performance Dates: July 1-3, 2027
