Canadian Yellamaraju fires 6-under 66 on moving day at The Players

Canadian Sudarshan Yellamaraju surged up The Players Championship leaderboard on Saturday with a third-round score of 66.

His 6-under round got him into a tie for 19th at the conclusion of his round and eight six shots back of leader Ludvig Aberg after fighting to make the cut on Friday.

Yellamaraju had the second-lowest round on moving day behind Robert McIntyre’s 65 at TPC Sawgrass. He was nearly flawless all day, carding a bogey-free round with six birdies, highlighted by four consecutive birdies on the front nine to get into red numbers.

From Mississauga, Ont., Yellemaraju isn’t the only Canadian making waves this week as Corey Conners heads into Sunday five shots behind leader Aberg at 8-under in a tie for fourth.

He will play alongside Justin Thomas in the fourth-to-last pairing as he aims to apply pressure on Aberg in the final round.

Canadians Nick Taylor and Taylor Pendrith also made the cut this weekend. Taylor sits at 2-under in a tie for 37th after Saturday’s action, while Pendrith is at 1-under for a share of 43rd.
