Austria’s Immofinanz has confirmed that a new Stop Shop retail park will open in the Croatian city of Bjelovar by the end of this year, marking another step in the company’s continued expansion across the country, Klikni.hr has reported.

The development is part of the company’s most intensive growth phase since entering the Croatian market in 2018. By the end of this year, Stop Shop will operate 24 locations across Croatia.

The new retail park is currently under construction in Pakračka Street and will include 18 commercial units across 12,025 square metres of space.

According to the developer, all retail units have already been leased, highlighting strong demand for modern retail formats in the area.

Several well-known brands are set to open stores in the new centre, including Sinsay, Sport Vision, TEDi, LC Waikiki, Action, Va-com and dm-drogerie markt. The retail park will also feature hospitality outlets including Batak Grill and the café brand Leggiero.

Each new Stop Shop location typically creates around 100 jobs, providing a boost to local employment and the regional economy.

In addition to Bjelovar, Stop Shop is entering four more Croatian cities this year, Knin, Sinj, Samobor and Kutina.

“Bjelovar confirms our development strategy focused on towns that have shown stable growth in recent years and strong local demand for modern retail formats,” the company said in a statement announcing the expansion.
