Lucky Devon residents are celebrating after winning a share of an impressive £1m People’s Postcode Lottery prize.

Seven neighbours in Northam have each won a cool £142,857 each after the market town postcode, EX39 1EZ, won the ‘Millionaire Street’ pot today (Saturday, March 14).

Lottery ambassador Matt Johnson was delighted to share the good news of the street’s win.

He said: “This incredible £1 million prize has been Devon sent! Congratulations to all seven of the winners.”

Matt added: “It’s a stunning part of the world, and how wonderful for friends and neighbours to share this experience together. It’ll be cream teas all round!”

All seven neighbours chose to remain anonymous.

Set on the north Devon coast, Northam sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The neighbours’ win also means local charities will receive a surprise funding boost as The Northam Care Trust has been given £100,000 thanks to Postcode Lottery players.

The charity was established by a group of determined parents almost 50 years ago. They support people with learning and physical disabilities to live their best life through residential care, supported living and daily services.

Jo Howell, the charity’s CEO, said the funding will help to achieve their ‘dream’ of building a ‘life-changing’ hydrotherapy pool.

She said: “I cannot thank the players of Postcode Lottery enough. This incredible £100,000 award brings us a huge step closer to making our dream of building a hydrotherapy pool a reality.

“This will be a transformative, much‑needed resource – not only for the people we support, but for the wider local community as well.

“Your generosity is helping us create something truly life‑changing. Thank you.”
