Leonardo DiCaprio’s awards history at the Oscars

Leonardo DiCaprio is Hollywood royalty. The 51-year-old has led some of the most iconic movies ever, from the swooning romance Titanic to the mind-bending Inception and the nostalgia-baked Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.
But as film legends like Tom Cruise and Cary Grant can attest, success doesn’t always lead to awards recognition. So, has DiCaprio fared well at the Oscars over his illustrious career?
The answer is … kind of? DiCaprio won Best Actor for his physically grueling performance in Alejandro González Iñárritu’s The Revenant back in 2016. It was the first win for DiCaprio after five prior nominations, including notable snubs for his performances in Martin Scorsese’s The Aviator and The Wolf of Wall Street.

Now, DiCaprio is up for Best Actor again for his role as the revolutionary turned burnt out girl dad Bob Ferguson in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another. DiCaprio is considered an underdog behind Michael B. Jordan (Sinners) and Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme).
