Timothée Chalamet Gets Jason Derulo Falling-Down-Stairs Meme Treatment

The meme previously believed to have been Jason DeRulo was repeatedly brought up during this year’s Oscars.
The pop singer didn’t actually fall down a staircase, in public at least, but for a decade, DeRulo was believed to have been the person who landed on his head in the infamous photo. As Just Jared reports, the individual who fell was an unnamed man who crashed the 2011 Cannes Film Festival to perform a stunt before being apprehended by security.
The reason for the photo resurfacing on Sunday night was because Timothée Chalamet was being relentlessly trolled during the 98th Academy Awards following his controversial statement about ballet and opera last month.
“I don’t want to be working in ballet or opera, or things where it’s like, ‘Hey, keep this thing alive, even though, like, no one cares about this anymore,’” Chalamet said during Variety and CNN’s town hall for Interstellar. “All respect to all the ballet and opera people out there. I just lost 14 cents in viewership. I just took shots for no reason.”
To make matters worse, the actor wore a white suit to the Oscars, possibly leading some to believe that the person in the meme was him.
Among shots taken at Chalamet during the awards ceremony was from host Conan O’Brien during the opening monologue. “Security is extremely tight tonight,” the comedian said. “I’m told there’s concern about attacks from both the opera and ballet communities. They’re just mad you left out jazz.”
