Oscars 2026: Biggest Moments You Didn’t See On TV

There were plenty of showstopping moments at tonight’s Academy Awards, but have you ever wondered what goes on when the cameras are off? When the stars are in full celebration mode, hob-nobbing and sipping cocktails, what really happens behind the scenes and during commercial breaks?
Here at Deadline, we were next to the nominees in the theater; we roamed the star-packed lobby bar and even peeked in on the smoking patio. We also were at the post-Oscars Governor’s Ball, capturing all the action there. Here’s what the TV cameras didn’t show you:
Everyone Get To Your Seats — The Show’s About To Kick Off
Comedian Matt Berry gives everyone a heads up that host Conan O’Brien will be out momentarily in a pre-show announcement, as we see Jesse Plemons and Elle Fanning chatting it up with folks in the front row, including Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner.
Berry appeared on screen inside the Dolby Theatre to offer a “rules” rundown to the audience, which included telling them to sit back, turn off phones, and keep speeches short.
Time To Hit The Bar
Shy of an hour into the show, Nicole Kidman made it to the stage side bar during a commercial break along with many others, clearly ready for a refresher.
Here are some other behind-the-scenes glimpses of the stars.

Get Those Wristbands Ready!
Everyone in the audience was given a light-up bracelet to wear during “Golden”s performance, which shortly thereafter took the Oscar for Best Original Song from KPop Demon Hunters.
Deadline At The Governor’s Ball
Now it’s time for the parties. Deadline is at the Governor’s Ball, capturing the action there.
