Oscars 2026 Red Carpet: Live Updates

“Wow it’s hot,” said Felicity Jones as she pushed her hair back for some relief. The actress, clad in a pastel yellow Prada gown, was one of the earlier arrivals onto the red carpet Sunday afternoon in Los Angeles for the 98th Academy Awards.
The weather was indeed a point of discussion on the red carpet, as the night’s biggest stars tried their best to keep cool.
Hudson Williams, whose name was shouted by fans wherever he went, carried a handheld mini fan to cool down in his Balenciaga look between interviews.
Timothée Chalamet, decked out in an all-white Givenchy ensemble, arrived with shades on, but removed them when it came time to pose.
“Hey Paul,” he said to “Hamnet” star Paul Mescal.
“Hey dude, you look great,” Mescal told him, before he reunited with Chanel-clad girlfriend Gracie Abrams.
“So hot,” he said as he watched her pose solo.
“Hamnet” director Chloe Zhao didn’t seem to mind the heat, opting to keep her Gabriela Hearst veil over her head even as photographers requested some shots without.
“Alicia, can we do an over the shoulder?” the photo pit asked of Alicia Silverstone.
“It’s not that kind of dress,” she told them.
“I practiced,” Renate Reinsve said of posing in her red Louis Vuitton column gown. “Sinners” star Jayme Lawson also seemed to have practiced how to move in her gown, shaking her cobalt beaded Loewe dress side to side as she walked.
“Sinners” breakout star Miles Caton, wearing custom burgundy Amiri, brought his mom as his date, first posing solo and then earning “awws” from the photographers as they posed together. It was a mother-son date night also for Jacob Elordi, in Bottega Veneta.
The carpet ended with a lineup of leading men, with Chalamet, Elordi, Michael B. Jordan and Leonardo DiCaprio all arriving toward the end. Just as the photographers thought the night was over, last year’s best actress Mikey Madison arrived, in a Dior strapless gown.
“Ooooh, Mikey,” someone raved, as another shouted “that’s a wrap!”
