Who Is MAFS Bride Julia Vogl’s New Girlfriend?

Among the brides walking down the aisle on this season of Married At First Sight is Julia Vogl, who made franchise history as the show’s first openly bisexual bride.

A creative and spiritually minded presence on the experiment, Julia quickly became known for championing deep intellectual connection and a wardrobe as bold and colourful as her personality. But while her on-screen marriage to Grayson McIvor did not last, Julia has since revealed she has found love with a new girlfriend after the experiment wrapped.

The 35-year-old is originally from Victoria, though she previously spent several years living in London. Early in her career, Julia studied journalism and worked as an entertainment correspondent in the UK before eventually pivoting into a different field.

She now works as a confidence and charisma consultant, running workshops designed to help individuals and businesses strengthen their communication skills and build a more compelling online presence.

Julia has been open about her sexuality throughout the series, explaining that she is attracted to both men and women. Across her dating history, she has had four serious relationships, three with women and one with a man, but has said she often struggled to find the elusive “full package” in either.

Since leaving the experiment, however, that appears to have changed. During an appearance on MAFS: After The Dinner Party, Julia confirmed she is now in a relationship with a woman she met shortly after filming concluded.

“I have a partner,” Julia coyly told hosts Laura Byrne, Brittany Hockley and Jules Lund. She explained that around two months after the experiment ended, she attended a singing lesson with the woman who would later become her partner.

“I realised I didn’t really want her to be my singing teacher,” Julia joked, adding that the pair have been seeing each other ever since.

Grayson, who appeared alongside his ex-wife during the reunion episode, confirmed he is currently single but remains open to finding love again in the future.

Julia’s journey on the show also marked an important moment for the series. When she first walked down the aisle, she did not know whether the experts would match her with a man or a woman. As she explained at the time, gender was never the deciding factor.

“It isn’t really about someone’s gender,” she said. “It’s about the connection that I have with them.”
