What happened to Trae Young? Live injury updates for Warriors vs. Wizards on Monday 3/16/26

Stan Son provides the latest status update for Wizards guard Trae Young on Monday, March 16.
With 7:49 left in the third quarter of Monday’s game against the Golden State Warriors, Trae Young was replaced by Bub Carrington. Young went to set a pick near the three-point line but got bumped by his defender and then crashed into the player he was going to set a screen on, injuring his leg in the process.
Young went to the locker room and has been ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

Prior to exiting, Young contributed 21 points, two rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block in 21 minutes of action. Carrington will be the biggest beneficiary if Young is out for an extended period of time.
Washington plays on Tuesday night against Detroit at home and then hosts the Pistons again at home on Thursday. Oklahoma City travels to Washington on Saturday, so the next three games will be brutal.
