Carrie Underwood Shares First Look At 2 Adopted ‘Babies’ In The Family: ‘Trying To Be A Good Mama’

Carrie Underwood and her family adopted two new babies.

The eight-time Grammy winner shared glimpses of the two orphaned lambs on Instagram on Monday morning (March 16). Underwood, 43, wrote in her caption that she and her family adopted two “little orphan lambs. We named them Magnolia (Maggie) and Murray. These mornings are so precious. It took a few days for them to willingly take the bottle…I’m still working on him. Trying to be a good mama to these babies! ❤️🐑🐑”

Maggie and Murray are the latest additions to Underwood’s farm animals. Last spring, she shared that “we had our first little lamb born on the farm,” joining other lambs, donkeys, cows and more. Underwood reflected on her farm life growing up in Oklahoma in the Idol To Icon series last year. The digital series featured Underwood reminiscing on her American Idol run in 2005. She won the show’s fourth season, and returned 20 years later as a judge. Now, she has farm animals again with husband Mike Fisher and the couple’s two young sons, Isaiah Michael, 11, and Jacob Bryan, 7.

“I make the joke now that it’s like, I grew up on a farm in a really small town [Checotah, Oklahoma], go try out for American Idol, go all over the world, go on tours, make albums, do all this stuff, just so I could buy a farm,” Underwood said with a laugh in the Idol To Icon series, “and go back to the farm and live on a farm in a small, little town [outside Nashville, Tennessee]. That’s roots. We all have them. You can’t get away from them, and sometimes you kind of have to go out and see all the other stuff before you realize, ‘man, I had it pretty good and I kinda want that back.’ I love my life so much now. I feel like I kinda get the best of both worlds. I get my days on the farm at home, I get my chickens and my sheep. There’s still a lot to do. It’s a lot of work. It’s very fulfilling.”
