Fans were distracted by Carlos Boozer’s actions as he watched Duke struggle against Siena in the NCAA Tournament.
On Thursday, Boozer’s sons, Cameron and Cayden, led the No. 1-ranked Blue Devils to South Carolina to take on the Saints, and through the first half, the outlook was not good for Duke. After the first half, the Boozer’s had 21 of the team’s points as they found themselves down 43-32.
And while some of the attention was directed at the two, especially after Cameron Boozer’s reaction to winning ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament MVP, March Madness viewers were distracted by what Carlos Boozer was doing as he watched the action from the stands.

“Lmfao Carlos Boozer got fresh hair dye in his beard and six packs of orbit gum in his mouth watching Sienna shoot >60% against his sons,” one fan said, noting the elder Boozer’s deeply dark beard and his aggressive chewing of the aforementioned gum.
Some fans focused on the fact that the former NBA star was very aggressively chewing gum, with one writing: “So Carlos Boozer just discovered chewing gum?” Another posted: “Carlos Boozer chewing tf out of that gum.”
A third couldn’t handle the way Carlos Boozer was attacking the gum in his mouth, posting: “You can’t show Carlos Boozer on TV if he’s chewing gum.” Along with his gum chewing, fans noted how the 44-year-old looked, referencing his past attempts to color his hair, though this time, it was his beard.

“Carlos Boozer may have the best beard in the game. Guy f—s,” a comment read on X. “Jalen Rose vs Carlos Boozer in a beard/hair dye 1v1 Who you taking?” another fan posited after seeing the former star’s look.
A third posted: “Carlos Boozer accepted the baldy but kept the Beijing for the beard.” The “Beijing” the fan is referring to is the substance the former Chicago Bulls star used to dye his hair jet black in 2012, which made it appear as if Carlos Boozer had painted his head and hairline.
During an appearance on Highly Questionable over a decade ago, Carlos Boozer explained what happened that night, which caused him to turn to “Beijing” to help with his hair at the time.

“Truth be told, I started losing my hair a little bit,” he said at the time [h/t Bleacher Report]. “They came out with this…it’s like a hair dye for men called ‘The Beijing.’
“Well, I had one guy that was like, ‘Yo, have you ever thought about growing your hair out?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I was thinking about it until I saw some of these little bald spots on my head.’ … He was telling me, ‘You grow your hair out. I can cover it up a little bit. Make it look like a regular haircut.’
“So I tried it. And he just made my stuff look like shoe polish up there.”
Despite how distracted fans were by Boozer’s beard and gum chewing, the Blue Devils continued to put up a fight in the second half, cutting the deficit to single digits in minutes.
