Maxx Crosby Reveals What His Doctor Told Him During the Baltimore Visit: “Don’t Listen to that Sh-“

It has been a little more than a week since the Ravens infamously backed out of an agreement with the Raiders to trade for Maxx Crosby, and for the first time since the story broke, Crosby talked about how the situation played out from his perspective.

Crosby said something felt off from the moment he walked into the Ravens’ building and in the five hours he met with the team, he never met with Ravens GM Eric DeCosta.

Crosby said he panicked when the Ravens initially told him they weren’t comfortable with his knee, but after calling the world-renowned doctor who performed the surgery on his knee, Crosby said his perspective changed.

“I talked to [Dr. Neal ElAttrache]. Neal calls me and he calmed me way down. He’s like, ‘Maxx, don’t listen to any of that sh–… your knee is great. You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be. Or even ahead of schedule. You’re doing everything right. They know you had your surgery nine weeks ago,” Crosby said on his March 17 episode of The Rush.

‘He’s showing me literally like the actual literature of this is where your knee is supposed to be at from a meniscus repair. There can be MRIs. It could be misleading because it’s still fresh and surgery and this and that. He’s like, ‘Listen, you’re doing everything right. Everything’s going well. We’re going to keep sticking to the plan. You will be back by training camp. That has been the **** timeline since the beginning that hasn’t changed.’”

The Ravens say the doctors they consulted with weren’t comfortable with Crosby’s knee, but it’s worth noting who they consulted with, specifically.

According to multiple reports, Dallas Cowboys head team physician Dr. Daniel Cooper played a role in the Ravens decision to void the Crosby trade.

Coincidentally, the runner-up in the Crosby trade sweepstakes has been said to be the Cowboys.

In the days between Baltimore agreeing to the Crosby trade and ultimately backing out, an ESPN report described the Cowboys as “low key devasted” that they weren’t able to reach a deal with the Raiders for Crosby.

A few days after the trade fell through with Baltimore, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked if he would re-engage in trade discussion with the Raiders, and while he said he didn’t anticipate that happening, he wasn’t willing to rule it out.

Considering it was the Cowboys’ doctor who reportedly advised the Ravens against trading for Crosby… it would be a little strange to see the Cowboys linked to Crosby again as we get closer to the draft.

Just something to maybe file away for later…
