In a strong clarification, India has rejected media reports suggesting a “tanker swap” deal with Iran to secure passage for its ships. Officials described the claims as baseless and confirmed that no such negotiations have taken place. The reports emerged amid escalating tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial global energy route currently monitored by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. India, however, is maintaining steady operations by handling ship movements individually rather than through any blanket agreement.
