Flint YWCA receives Kyle Kuzma Family Foundation Grant

Flint, Mich. (WNEM) — A local YWCA has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Kyle Kuzma Helping Hand Impact Fund.

The Helping Hand Impact Fund is providing grants to nonprofit shelters for women and children affected by domestic situations. With an initiative to provide direct support for mothers and children, $100,000 has been invested in domestic violence shelters to help them rebuild their lives.

With funds from the grant, shelters will provide direct financial support to residents, helping them overcome immediate barriers to safety, stability and independence.

“Having raised my children as a single mom, I know how challenging it can be to provide for your family while navigating difficult circumstances,” said Karri Kuzma, co-founder of the Kyle Kuzma Family Foundation. ”Through the Helping Hand Impact Fund, we hope to provide meaningful support and empower these women to reclaim their independence.”

The Kyle Kuzma Family Foundation awarded two grants this year to domestic violence shelters. The recipients of the grants include $50,000 awarded to the YWCA Greater Flint, Mich., and $35,000 awarded to the Sojourner Peace Center, Milwaukee, Wis.
