Canada’s Victoria Mboko and Mirra Andreeva of Russia could have an awkward week.

Fernandez and all-time great Venus Williams of the U.S., lost a heartbreaker to New Zealand’s Erin Routliffe and American Asia Muhammad in a Round of 32 women’s doubles match later in the day.
Fernandez and Williams won the opening set 6-3, but the sixth-seeded Routliffe and Muhammad bounced back with 6-3, 13-11 wins to take the best-of-three match.
Montreal’s Félix Auger-Aliassime will face France’s Terence Atmane in a Round of 32 match in the men’s singles tournament on Monday, also scheduled at 12:10 p.m.
In women’s doubles Monday, Ottawa’s Gabriela Dabrowski and new partner Luisa Stefani of Brazil are slated to play in the Round of 16 at 3 p.m. against Russia’s Ekaterina Alexandrova and Fanny Stollár of Hungary.
